The European dimension of a family business – Di Martino Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow…

July 1, 2023 will remain engraved in our hearts as a moment of sharing and celebration at the enchanting Sheraton Hotel in Aci Castello (Catania).
A special opportunity to tell our fascinating story, reflect on our growth path and reveal future projects with great enthusiasm.
The key word that guided this extraordinary meeting, masterfully moderated by the journalist Salvatore Fallica, was “family”.
The cav. Angelo Di Martino, with contagious passion, underlined how the concept of family is the fundamental pillar of the success of our company: “We have succeeded in our aim of carrying forward the family and society by also involving our children and grandchildren”.
Our ability to maintain the family union and successfully navigate the challenges of the market is highlighted by the decision to expand our horizons, looking beyond the Italian borders towards new markets, as in the case of Northern Europe.
The emotional words of our general manager of Comer Sud, Davide Di Martino, took us back to May ’92, a moment of personal loss. Davide shared how the values of unity and dedication to work, transmitted by his beloved grandfather and uncle Salvatore, remained engraved in his heart, guiding him in his career.
In addition to business success, our commitment extends to various responsibilities, including economic, environmental and social. Our general manager highlighted the importance of also addressing social responsibility in the South, an often overlooked topic.
A project of notable importance is the one in the pediatric cardiac surgery hospital in Taormina, which has enriched our team on a human level and improved the journey of small patients thanks to the transport cars supplied by our company.
Following this, Monsignor Antonino Raspanti, bishop of Acireale and president of the Center for International Studies, led a reflection on today’s relational dynamics, always starting from the concept of family. He underlined the importance of cohesion within our Di Martino group, defining mutual care as true wealth, which goes beyond the mere financial aspect.
Among the illustrious participants, the ALIS president, Guido Grimaldi, praised our commitment to environmental sustainability, defining us as the first company in Italy to have invested in electric trucks.
Important interventions also came from Saverio Continella, general director of Banca Agricola Popolare di Ragusa, Angelo Mulone, accountant, and Professor Marco Romano of the University of Catania, testimony to the close collaboration between the academic world and our company.
The closing of the event was entrusted to the president of the board of directors, Mario Di Martino, who wanted to pay homage to our beloved city, to the family’s sacrifices and to issue a warning not to give up in difficult times: “Let’s not complain too much, but let’s try to do something. This is how we managed to do a business.”
The event was a moment in which family, company and community intertwined in a single embrace of success, growth and hope for the future. We look forward with enthusiasm, aware that our commitment and dedication will continue to guide us towards new heights.
