Christmas Village Tour 2023: A moment of joy for less fortunate children

The Christmas Village Tour has marked a significant step in the charitable activities of Team D9 and the Di Martino Group since 2018, with the primary objective of bringing joy and smiles to less fortunate children. At the beginning, these initiatives were carried out directly in the pediatric departments of various Sicilian municipalities, including Enna, Catania, Palermo, Caltanissetta and Taormina.

One of the most special donations was made at the pediatric cardiac surgery department in Taormina, where Team D9 donated two electric cars to facilitate the transport of small patients from the hospital rooms to the operating rooms.

However, in 2021, the restrictions imposed by the pandemic have made it impossible to continue these direct visits to pediatric departments.

In response to this situation, Team D9 decided to persevere in its solidarity commitment, combining the theme of solidarity value with that of recycling, giving life to the “Christmas Village Tour”, a mobile toy collection centre.

Over the years, the tour has touched the most beautiful Sicilian squares, bringing joy and smiles to many children.

This year, the initiative has extended throughout Italy, with stops in the squares of the main cities such as Palermo, Naples, Rome, Piacenza, Milan, Turin and Catania.

The “Tir” used for the tour was kindly provided by F.lli Di Martino, transforming itself into a real Santa’s house inside, complete with decorative trees and Santa’s large red armchair.

Outside the truck, the Christmas decorations created a magical atmosphere for visitors and every child who visited received sweets and small gadgets.

At the end of each day, all the toys collected were donated to the Italian Red Cross, a partner of the project for three years, which was responsible for delivering them to the less fortunate children of the province, giving them moments of joy during the Christmas holidays.

Christmas is a time of joy that should be shared with all children, regardless of their situation.

Sharing a magical moment with them and their families is a gesture of fundamental importance.
